Hostel owners Ali & Phil… along with Maverick, (their adorable cat) invite you to Murchison to stay at the The Lazy Cow – a small, homely hostel with decks, BBQ’s and a lovely garden to enjoy in the summer. Cosy log fires and electric blankets to keep you nice and warm during colder seasons.
The Lazy Cow is the perfect place to relax & chill after tramping Abel Tasman/Nelson Lakes. If you’re adventurous, check-out the kayaking, white-water rafting or the exhilarating “Buller Canyon Jet” boat ride through the Buller Gorge.

Delicious pizzas created in our own restaurant. Eat-in or take-away. We can even bring it to your room!
Our on-site restaurant “The Cow Shed” is 6 days a week open (closed on Monday). We have a BYO on-license, so bring along your favorite wine or beer to accompany your meal.
